Marianne is Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn

We went to see our friend Marianne in The Music Man last week. She was one of the leads--Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn.

She stole the show.

Our friend Mei Jen wanted to see it but was out of town so we recorded it with our new video camera--a very awesome wedding gift from my coworkers.

We will be posting our favorite clips including post-show interviews!

Geography challenge

Matt just sent me this fun game that Mom Paula sent to him. I got ousted on level 6. I tried again and still didn't get past level 6. Matt made it to level 10 on his second try. I'm pretty sure I married a geography genius.

Family update

Just wanted to say hello to everybody because I haven't been very good at keeping in touch lately. Besides being all newlywed and flakey, we have been trying to get Matt's condo ready to sell. We've also been selling stuff on Ebay and Craigslist like crazy as part of the effort to clean out and consolidate. Someone just offered to buy my old, used Cricket phone for $50 on Craigslist. I'll take it! I definitely have the grandma/mom gene. I'd be happy to detail the good deals we've made if you are interested ;) We also got a few good deals ourselves on some used stuff, including some camping gear for this summer (see video below).

It was fun having Matt's twinlet in town. Made me miss my twinlet (Alan). We played video games and ate a lot and watched a couple of documentaries. One called "King of Kong" about these two rivals for the world Donkey Kong championship. Very good. The other was called "Helvetica," which is about a font (a lettering font). Now I can look at almost any given sign and tell you whether the font is Helvetica or not. Impressive, no? Matt actually used to work in a different church department making fonts. His old department wants his help, so he will probably be working a few hours a week making a Cambodian font, which sounds really cool to me.

Tomorrow we are moving boxes out of the condo. Then we will just have a little more cleaning to do, and we will be ready to stage and sell. It could be hard to sell with the housing market the way it is, but we will find out soon enough.

Rufus, Gizmo, and Shyler are doing okay. The latter two are having to adjust to my shift in affections. We call them "house otters" because we think they are cute when you hold their ears back with your hand and their little faces stretch back a bit. They look like otters...kind of... Mom will be happy to know that Rufus is back to digging in the big pot. He also likes to shred toilet paper in his spare time. We call him the "water otter" because he always dashes to the bathroom whenever we go in there. He likes us to turn on the faucet so he can play with the water stream. They all wrastle together and lick each other a lot. They like to snuggle together in one pile, and Matt and I snuggle in another pile, so we are a very happy family. Matt is a fantastic husband, and I love being married to him. Last night he got me laughing so hard that I spiraled down into a fit of silliness :)

Better get back to work.

Love you all!
